Howdy folks!

I really appreciate all of the effort you guys put forth during October. We still have more to do in the coming months, however, so I'm hoping that you've still got some energy left.

We have several events going on during November and we're also going to do some biorecons. If you are available to work at one of the festivals, please let me know which of the shifts you would be able to cover. If your schedule is flexible then I can put you where you are needed most.

Saturday November 8 Downtown Art Festival. We still need a few more volunteers for this event. We will be working in the kids section. Here are the shifts that we need to cover:8:00-12:3012:00-3:30
3:00-6:00

Monday-Wednesday November 10-12. Florida Green Lodging Conference. Water Star booth sitting. Please let me know if you are interested in Water Star. (I am hoping that some of the master gardener's might take on the Water Star project.) If you want to get involved with Water Star, let me know and we'll see how and when you might fit into the conference.

Saturday November 22 Cross Creek Festival. We still need two more volunteers for this. Here are the shifts:
8:00-12:30
12:00-4:30

BIORECONS
Saturday November 15 9:00-12:30
Saturday November 22 9:00-12:30 (We will only do this if we get enough volunteers to staff the Cross Creek Festival)
Saturday December 6 9:00-12:30
Saturday November 13 9:00-12:30

For those of you new to WAV, here's the rundown on how the BIORECONS work:
We have a really important WAV project that's outdoors (yippee)!!! We will be going to specified locations in Gainesville creeks doing biological reconnaissance (biorecon). We will note plant species and erosion conditions, get GPS coordinates, collect macroinvertebrates and sort them, etc. We will be working with Laura Line of Water and Air Research on this.  This will be an ongoing project over the next couple of years. It's really important work and we need some volunteers who can help. There will be lots of types of duties and your assignment would depend on your skill set. Even if you have no experience with any of this don't worry. Each biorecon outing takes about 3 1/2 hours.
Thanks to all of you!
