wet·lands
n.
a lowland area, such as a marsh or swamp, that
is saturated with moisture, especially when regarded as the natural
habitat of wildlife.
Wetlands
are an important part of every watershed
– they are the transitional area where the water table is
at or near the surface of the land. They are home to numerous wildlife
and plant
species. With all of the water resources in our community, you
can imagine how our wetlands are important to ecosystem health.
